Tis calls for a sound marketing research, aalysis and evaluation that an appropriate strategy is arrived at.

Tis will be discussed in the following section. Te tourism industry has unrivalled contribution to many economies as compared to other industries (Tsiotsou and Goldsmith 2012). Hwever, fr this potential to be tapped at higher levels in Turkey and elsewhere in the world, i is important that there is an appropriate marketing plan and strategy that has been put in place. Te tourism industry is divided in different sectors that require different marketing approaches. Te Turkish tourism has been broadly divided into main categories that include natural attractions, hstoric attractions, cltural attractions and the hospitality sector.

Te marketing methods employed in these sectors and other sub sectors tend to follow same concepts even though there are slight variations. Wereas the hospitality sector depends on the attraction sites for promotion on the other hand, te cultural attractions are dependent on other segments since visitors are more attracted by hospitality and nature before they think about culture (Woodside and Martin 2008). Pomotion is done through packages that combine travel, acommodation and interaction with communities.
