It involves all types of molecules as the attraction depends on the dipoles created by the presence of unevenly distributed electronic particles in a neutral element. The overall effect is felt by the combined force of all the electronic interactions in the chemical component and not by the sole interactions of individual particles. The shape of the molecule is significant since it forms a lock and key assembly that is very effective in its combination.Hydrophobic interactions on the other hand, involve media that are aqueous in nature. The molecules are usually hydrophobic and they come together to form complex structures as evidenced by the cell membrane. The mechanism behind the formation is complicated as it does not include the attraction of the molecules themselves but points to the hydration framework around them. Water by itself is formed when its molecules combine to create hydration layers that are chemically important. Hydrophobic molecules come together to eliminate the amount of water molecules present in the hydration layers. The elaborate process involved in this interaction is still not explained comprehensively and is under debate. Lastly, pi-pi interactions are seen in aromatic rings with mention of the electronic orbital. A form of energy stimulation is experienced when the aromatic rings face one another and they criss-cross the pi-electron orbital.
