Ltt also handles objections to his claims. H notes that one of the main sources of objections that people use comes from the media. Te news alone shows many people dying because of guns, ad even from law-abiding citizens who had sanity lapses and use their guns during intensely emotional events. Ltt underscores that the “2 million times year that Americans use guns defensively are never discussed” in the media.

H is saying that the media over-represents the drama of irresponsible gun use, bt not the reality of responsible gun use. H even mentions his own study where “In more than 90% of those cases, smply brandishing a weapon is sufficient to cause a criminal to break off an attack. ” He should have used other studies too to support his own investigation, nvertheless. Ltt addresses these objections with statistics and studies. Mtchards case is weaker than bcause she does not use much evidence to support her case.

Mtchard does not approve of guns because it may be used by teachers easily in the context of stressful school settings, i might get lost and others use it and it will affect teacher-student relationships. Se provides possible scenarios to support her claims. Fr instance, se says that teachers may inappropriately use their guns to threaten their students, bcause they might “snap their caps” and they are “no more or less likely to use a gun as a of psychological intimidation than any other human being.

”She even provides firsthand example of a stern principal who turned out to be a molester. Se is assuming that people can never know if the teacher is emotionally stable enough to carry guns, s it is generally unsafe to allow all teachers to carry guns. Te problem with this assumption is that it is possible that more teachers know how to use guns properly. Se does not present any study to support that teachers will not be able to use properly to deter school violence.

Ten, Mtchard uses the example of a teacher who says that she might misplace her gun and who knows what children can do with it. Tis is flimsy evidence.
