Without proper counseling and guidance children may astray away from the correct path of life and shall destroy their future forever, uder the influence of intense feelings and emotions. Te play revolved around the central characters of children that are depicted to be entering the adolescent phase of their lives, bcoming adults and developing sexual needs and body features of a grown up. Te characters in the play are shown to be school going children that interact with members of the opposite sex on a regular basis. Te highlights the growing body needs of these adolescents and the lack of communication between their elders for assistance and guidance.

Fr instance Moritz, oe of the central characters in the play, i shown to have been experiencing intense sexual feelings in the form of dreams on a regular basis. H finds himself hapless in the midst of the environment as he lacks proper guidance that could help him understand the evolution that he is going through. Smilar feelings have been experienced by the adolescent girls in the play. Te very desperate to understand the metabolic changes in their bodies and seek assistance from their mothers by questioning them regarding the birth of a child and the process that brings this about, te mothers play foul with their daughters and do not enlighten them on the new phase of life that they are entering.

Te lack of communication and superfluous barriers of tradition and culture in place, te adolescents are shown to have become frustrated, mslead and have indulged themselves into acts such as masturbation (New York Times, Te shown in the play is extremely complex and intriguing as can be noticed at various instances where the parents don’t even recognize the stress that their children are going through.

Tis is the abysmal state of the society. Tis rigid attitude of the parents towards a natural phenomenon in the end spoils the youth of the children in the play and their lives end in tragedy and misery. Te adolescents end up giving their lives out of frustration and lack of guidance and awareness. Wndla’s character in play has awarded a touching sequence where she loses her life to an abortion, binging the adversities of lack of awareness regarding sexual issues to limelight (New York Times, 2006).
