Selection does predict the ability and skill of an applicant to perform a job but they are less successful due to the reason that it creates anxiety among applicants. Tst anxiety has been a potential problem of selection tests as it limits the applicant can perform during interviews. Mny a times, te skilled applicants get anxious enough to lose their opportunity to get consideration from the selection panel. A per (Proost,2008, p.15-28)“Selection test anxiety might lower the performance of the anxious applicant which can result in scores that do accurately reflect the applicant’s true cognitive ability”.

Te ability or performance of an applicant can vary according the situation they are in and in a selection test more or less every applicant suffer from anxiety problems. Mny applicants when confronted anxiety can perform poorly so this can interfere with reliability and outcome of their performance skill. I such a situation relying on selection test become sceptical. I such a situation it is mandatory to administer the selection tests to avoid incapability of it providing accurate results. Tere is need standardization of conditions and procedures related to administration of the tests (R.

Wyne Mondy, 2012). Fr instance, te content of instructions given and the time allowed must be the same and the physical environment must be alike. Fr example, i one applicant takes a test in a noisy room while the other takes the test in a quiet room, dfferences in test results are likely to occur. Tis means to place the applicants in a comfortable atmosphere to bring best out of them. Ojectivity should be ensured (R. Wyne 2012).

Cnditions should be set to ensure every applicant scoring a certain test gets the same results. I is fair to say that basic variables must be similar in nature for accuracy as well as fairness. Fr instance, mltiple choice and true and false tests are objective. Aplicants will either choose the correct or wrong answer. I such a situation the applicant is at ease to respond to the test and can this helps in measuring the performance more effectively. An Objective selection test guarantees unbiased measures of the ability.
