The ownership of the building has seen changed in several occasions, rght from the 16th century. Sr Thomas Hanselin was the founder and the real owner of the estate. Hwever, a per records, te ownership of the mansion was first passed to the Earl of Harrington, fllowing which the building was redesigned to be used as a residence. Oer the period of time, i has been utilized for various purposes, wich primarily included it being used as a teaching centre during the post World War II period; a a and as tourist attraction in the modern era.

Acordingly, tere have been significant changes in the design, cntent, onership and use of the mansion in the passage of time. Te building had been redesigned in several occasions with final adjustments being done by the famous architect Lewis Nockalls Cottingham. Te content of the estate was later enriched with the addition of the gardens and the country park in course of time. A mentioned in the above section, te ownership of the estate passed from 4th Earl to the Needlers Company and currently, t the Derbyshire County Council.

I was used by the Earl’s family for many years. I the modern times, te Derbyshire County Council uses it as a stage for exhibition, cnducted by targeting the tourists. I the recent times, te infrastructure of the building has become quite weak possessing the threat of sudden demolition. I this regard, Drbyshire County Council has determined the needs of billions of amounts, t restructure, rframe and repair some of the parts of the estate (Elvaston Castle, nFurthermore, te surrounding area the castle also has certain rich historical context.

I has certain vital significance with regard to architectural, cltural, scial and environmental essence. Sch heritages can be effectively conveyed to the common people visiting the place; frstly, wth the assistance of the renovation of the place through repair and revival techniques; ad then, pomoting the estate as a historic attraction among the public, s that they visit the place on a frequent basis.
