A Legendary Experience in the Robin Hood Festival. Anywhere you look, there will always be medieval features in the surroundings – actors play as musicians, alchemists, magicians, and entertainers in the Middle Ages. Because everyone is dressed in medieval attire, you will indeed capture the typical English medieval atmosphere. While the band plays, live jousting and fighting scenes make the crowd lively. These activities make the entire festival more enjoyable and lively.Also in the Sherwood Forest, you cannot miss the famous “Major Oak” tree which lies near the village of Edwinstowe. According to legend, Robin Hood lived inside the 800 year old tree and turned it as his headquarters to shield himself from the enemy. With a 33 feet circumference and an estimated weight of 23 tons, Major Oak presents a grandeur site for everyone who yearns to see Robin Hood’s home.

Many visitors take pictures with the famous tree because it is known to be the secret refuge of the English hero.At the heart of Nottinghamshire, one can visibly see the Old Market Square, the place where an archery match between Robin Hood and Sherriff of Nottingham took place. Of course, our hero won a silver arrow in the the contest. At the festival, expect these events to be reenacted by experienced actors. Also, you cannot miss to take a visit the Council House on the other side of The Old Market Square. Within its dome lies the bronze sculpture of the mighty Robin Hood carrying his bow and arrow.Another sites in the festival which you should not miss include the so-called Robin Hood’s Well and the Nottingham Castle. While driving around the town, you may want to stop by these locations and marvel at the ancient structures. The Robin Hood’s well is located two miles northeast of Nottingham on the Wells Road. In 1987, the well was discovered in a car park after being covered for many years when the railway construction began on 1887. It was believed that Robin Hood and his Merry Men brawled inside the well during their adventures.Lastly, the Nottingham Castle is not a sight to miss. The structure plays a role in Robin Hood romances. Built in 1067, the castle has gone through numerous transformations and remains to be an important site for the adventures of the outlaw hero. Also, it is the famous location of the Robin Hood film itself so you should not miss the breathtaking scenery both inside and outside the area.With all these.
