Learning in the Key Life. His current job has minimal pay and hence cannot afford to even enroll for night classes anytime soon. This is the situation with most children from poor families. Research by Greenberg (2007) indicates that only around 12% of children from poor families receive federal educational grants the rest simply suffer. It is not that these children are not bright enough to attend colleges and universities but their circumstances in life are different. These individuals have a different and difficult life with their education as a result of family poverty. The education system on the other hand does not encourage them to even get gainful employments in future as the system does not focus on other abilities an individual maybe having other than just the basic education acquired.

This therefore leads to only one of two outcomes once an individual is done with the system: pass or fail. Failures have nowhere to go and the opportunities in life for them are rather limited.According to Spayde (2004), individuals who happen to expand on their education through attendance of night classes still have a long struggle ahead of them before they can be considered qualified enough to get opportunities in companies and compete with those who attended degree courses. They have to pass the night classes, enroll to colleges for diploma and finally enroll for degree to at least catch up with what is considered the most basic achievement in higher education. All this is brought about by the lack of a straightforward definition of education. Definition is the base of the world ahead and if education cannot be made to be comprehensive in even its definition, then the subject being taught to students will lack proper roots and references. Special attention is needed to be provided to the basic training courses that the poor people enroll in so that the skills acquired from the course can be formally recognized by the employers. This will assist in getting more job opportunities for the poor and hence ending the cycle of poverty that seems to currently engrave them.As discussed by Spayde (2004), if informal education is given recognition, receives funding to improve its standards as well as control from the education department instilled in them, then better educational opportunity for those who did not get to attend colleges and universities for one reason or another can be made available. The recognition would go a long way to show. Learning in the Key Life.
