What is Child Labour. Public spaces have in the recent years become a source of fear for children. This fear is based on the increase in the state of insecurity that targets the public spaces leading parents to make their children avoid such spaces by instilling fear in them. Children are brilliant at learning through observation. When they observe their parent’s reaction to public spaces as well as the reaction of the media, they start becoming afraid and associating public spaces with risk. They try keeping indoors all the time or spent their time at the shopping malls and not in parts or other open spaces.
This is not only unhealthy but is also not educational or entertaining enough. Children should be taught about fear but should not be made to avoid enjoying public spaces simply because of fear.

If the children of today live in fear, what will the next generation do? What kind of leaders and modeling behavior are parents and the media portraying to their children? They should be taught what is right and wrong, how to avoid accidents and take care of them but they should be made to be afraid of their surroundings and places where they seek comfort and happiness which is basically in the open spaces. Failing to do this will lead to a future generation of people staying indoors all the time as they have the fear of what the public open spaces outdoors will do for them.
NGOs particularly the Christian-based ones like World Vision can assist in making the public space much safer and less risky as well as greatly assist in making the lives of underprivileged children much more fun and secure. All that the children need is safety, love, and care and in the case of those that cannot be able to get it from parents for lack of them being present, they can get it from others through the non-governmental organizations and especially those with values. These NGOs especially the Christian based ones may not always have the solution or ensure that everyone receives positive outcome as in reality no one can be able to ensure that as well.
