This study has focused on two factors as the name suggests incidents and risks of having deep wound infections after back bone surgery. Well, the author has raised some major research questions inquiring about the incidents of deep wound infections after scoliosis correction. There are numerous researches looking at the available scoliosis surgery options but there are some tags associated with the correction that may consequent deep wound infections (Potter, Kirk, & Shah, 2006). The most interesting aspect of this study question is that it is descriptive in nature looking forward to the consequences that may occur due to scoliosis correction. Since the time period in this research for occurrence of deep wound infection is stated to be around 1.2 years to 8.5 years which is quite an extensive period (Soultanis, Mantelos, & Pagiatakis, 2003). So, I believe that this research fills in the existing knowledge gap among patients by informing them about the incidents of deep wound infections.
