And as per the relevant data of 2008, the fee charged by university is more than double the one a student pays at the community college. Hence, it is but natural for students with financial constraints to be opting for academic pursuits in these entities (community colleges).Based on exhaustive studies carried out in the avenue of diverse facets of a community college, it has been observed that, on an average, a typical student of community college is a bit older than their counterpart pursuing university education.

In this context, it could be inferred that the policy of the institution in increasing the upper age – limit of students, mentioned above, also played a key role in bringing about this trend.
