This may not be easy and the population may need to shift their social norms and accommodate the elite if they are to win them over. In case the decision makers are the political leaders, they may be needed to increase political will towards the leader and strengthen their base of support. This is likely to meet their approval and they may readily make the policy changes.Lastly is to ensure to have evidence in form of research lined up to back the claim for a need for policy change or new policy formulation. In this case, research can involve the statistics of the sick people in the US as a result of unhealthy eating and the increasing in number of deaths which may lead to decrease in number of voters or tanking of the economy. The impact of these strategies is the formulation of a new policy that will facilitate access to healthy food by all people in the US without any disparities happening.This theory is also referred to as the “grassroots theory” and its proponent is known as Saul Alinsky. It is based on the premise that when communities are given the power to make changes on a given problem affecting them, they will not only manage these changes but will have a dynamic view of how to go about it. This is a better based theory and model to solve the issue in discussion as it directly involves the people. A dynamic view is also different and way better than a rigid view which is common when the elite and powerful are handling the policy changes in society (Alinsky, 2010).This theory is based on several assumptions which are that power is in existence when people come together and cooperate to work together rather than it being absolute on one individual only. The other assumption is that this same power held by the people can be shifted as actions and events shift. In order for organizing and advocacy to be successful, capacity building of the affected party is important and so is respecting the wishes of the people. Lastly the proponent assumes that by people taking the power and carrying out mutual action, they can be able to create social change.The topic in discussion involving disparity that is in existence in accessing healthy food in the US is a social issue and affects majority of the people both in the rural and urban areas. The disparities in access are brought about by the increased expense in healthy foods reducing affordability and especially in the hard economic times the US
