Music, dnce, teater and other forms of life arts that are staged in front of an audience. 1These arts provide not only entertainment to the audience, bt at times act as settings for social interactions or as promoting cultural education. 2In some cases, i has been found that people relate their self-identity and self-esteem with the type of performing arts that they patronize. 3There is a wide range of experiences that the audience may drive from the Performing Arts. Tese may include, i addition to the creating a for those who are involved as audience, aso creating a ‘mood’ or emotional experience for them.

Prforming arts in turn largely divided into two specific types, ppular and classic. Wile distinction is not well defined, tere is a difference in how the two are perceived and on how the audiences of the two differ from each other. Wile classical forms of performing arts are relegated to orchestra symphony, oeras and theatres, ppular forms of arts include music like pop, hp-hop, suls, mtal etc. Aother difference that marks the two perception that classic performing arts need the audience to be educated and cultured, ad hence largely belong to social and economical elite classes, wile the popular arts command audiences who are raw and young.

Te Performing arts, epecially the classical musical symphonies and operas, hve been traditionally financed through individual or governmental funding and subscriptions from patrons. Tere have been few attempts to bring these performing arts as a mainstream entertainment medium, ppularized among the masses and supported through revenues generated by ticket sales. Tere has been a of effort focused towards making the performing arts organizations self-sustaining financially and ensuring that they find popularity among the larger public.

4While this approach works in cases where a large section of the audience are educated, clturally aware and self-motivated to spend their time and money on the classical performing arts, i may fail in cases where the audience is not developed enough to enjoy this form of art that is considered as ‘elite’ or ‘high class’. Te performing arts organizations may also face intense competition from other of entertainment popular music, vdeo-gaming, otdoor sports, sorts events, teme parks, mvie theatres etc.
