Cases of threats of loss of resources by the employees are likely to occur thus making them develop political traits to secure what they have (Gummer, 2001).It is very important that the members of an organization clearly understand the goals and objectives of the organization. It will help make the organization effective as the employees will understand their roles so as to enable the organization achieve these objectives (Lawler & Bacharach, 2009).If the organization’s goals ambiguous and not clearly understood by the employees, then they will not perform their roles effectively making it difficult for the organization to succeed. Ambiguous organizational goals are likely to cause confusion which may eventually lead to political behaviors (Bacharach & Lawler, 2000).Trust is very important among the members of an organization. If the level of trust among the members of an organization is high, then the organization is more likely to achieve its objectives and levels of organizational politics will be minimized. However, if the level of trust within the organization is low then political behavior among the employees will be likely to develop as each and every employee tries to achieve his or her own interests and desires in the organization (Gummer, 2001).Sometimes employees in an organization become jealous about other employee’s performance. Jealousy is mostly common among employees working in the same departments or different in an organization. Such individuals may become jealous of each other’s job performance or even promotion. This eventually makes such employees develop political behaviors in an attempt to achieve what their colleagues have achieved (Gummer, 2001)Lack of information in the organization may contribute to the development of political behavior among the employees. For instance, if the information about job objectives, job opportunities and the performance of an employee is not disseminated well to the members of the organization, then political behaviors are likely to develop among the employees.Another example of political behavior in an organization is where an individual blames another person in the organization for his or her own mistakes. The falsely blamed employee then faces the consequences of committing the mistake despite him or her not having committed the mistake. Sometimes, this type of political behavior may result to losing of one’s job because
