In this regard, nurses should try to feel their patients’ pain and suffering in order to provide them with the best care and treatment. Finally, the behavioral aspect of compassion implies “responding to another in a way that is helpful” (Cavanagh, 1995, p. In this regard, nurses should follow the values, ethics, and logic in nursing in order to solve their patients’ problems and provide them with the best care. In effect, the results will be the best outcomes in care, which is the expectation of the nursing profession. Nevertheless, empathy is the word that sums up compassion in nursing, which is the expectation of nursing from the public.In order to elucidate on my philosophy in nursing effectively, I will use a case that I once experienced during the line of duty.
