This course is very vital as it is the one that introduces the students to the various aspects of nursing such as emergency care, multidisciplinary teams and their roles and purposes, the composition of the health care sector and a general overview into the nursing career. When they have such knowledge and information, they will have a foundation that is required to succeed in the nursing filed and practice.Technical writing and composition is the other course that students are required to study. Just like in all other health practices, nursing entails communication between the nurses and the patients and between the nurses and other health care practitioners. The communication can take place either verbally or in writing. The Technical Writing and Composition course allows the nursing students to develop their communication abilities by boosting the technical writing capabilities. By understanding this vital aspect of communication the nursing students will be able to pass information to various stakeholders during the course of their work. The study also allows them to be able to understand the technical writing that they may encounter in the nursing practices. Moreover it allows them to report the conditions of the patients well (Bachmann et al.Anatomy and Physiology course is incorporated into the nursing curriculum since the study of the human body is an integral part of health care provisions. According to Waugh & Grant (2010) nurses can be called to use the information that they have gained in the course of the study so as to respond to the needs of their patients. It is the study of anatomy and the physiology that gives the nurse the information needed to carry out this. Through this course the nurses are able to how the human body functions and this is vital in the nursing practice (Waugh & Grant, 2010).Nursing Theory Course on the other hand is a course that aims to explore the various theories which are relevant to the nursing practices. This unit strives to equip the students with the ability to explain and predict the nursing phenomena. Moreover, it provides the students with the foundation that they require in the nursing practice (Meleis, 2011).
