I for instance, have developed a particular liking towards rock and strong beat music. I enjoy listening to singers like Linkin Park, Eminem, Paramour, Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, and some others. Most of the time, I just randomly select a song from my playlist is put it on play, but it has happened so many times with me that I have been put down, neglected & I was totally dishearted. I lost the belief in myself. At that time, I used to feel that my life is totally meaningless & that I should not have been born at all. In such case, although I should not, but I prefer to listen to Linkin Park’s “somewhere I belong”. It is a song that strung at my heart because its lyrics are all about the failure that comes after repeated effort. It’s a song about a person who was despised by people and there was not a single person who would step forward to company him & appreciate or help him lighten up. The lyrics are so heart touching that I brought tears to my eyes. It helped me cry out my disappointment. It has a powerful beat along with the lyrics which tells about the depth of the suffering.Otherwise, I listen to such a song which sparks ,if not much, but a little hope inside me, & helps me to build up the courage to face the world & most importantly, to face my own fears. I love the “Never Gone” of the Back Street Boys & “say goodbye” in that sense. Never Gone is a slow & soft song and it describes the feelings & the heart ache that one may experience when he has suffered a breakup or has lost a true friend. The soft music in the song provides strength for bearing the loss & the lyrics give hope courage that even though that partner or friend has gone even though he was the source of inspiration & strength in your life, he still resides deep inside your heart & his memories, his laughter, the great time that you had spent together, that all will never be lost. The sweet memories of the past can never be erased. ‘Say goodbye’ is a song that relates to the previous mistakes or the decisions that are taken badly. At first, we do not realize that the decision that we are taking will cause much damage, or break the hearts of our loved ones. We only realize it when the damage has been done & it is very difficult to make amends. This song teaches us the lesson that we should learn from our mistakes & promise ourselves that we shall not repeat such mistakes ever again in life.
