Preventing my parents from initiating confusions in communication became my obligation. A the time, Ithought that my actions were saving my parents and myself from embarrassments. I her narratives, Tn blames her mother for limiting her progress in her study of the English language. Hwever, fr me, te imperfection of my parents’ linguistic skills pushed me to a higher level in my studies of the English language. I an attempt to hide their inadequacy and to prevent embarrassments, Icaught a platform to practice the English I had learned and by so doing, Iimproved my communication skills.

Aain, Ihad to act like a grown up person as I was forced to converse with adults. Iwas thus forced by the situation to use acceptable English language and not the usual slang language associated with teenagers and young people. Trough this way, Iimproved my knowledge of the official English language thus ending up being the best in my class in the English subject. De to my knowledge of the English language, m class teacher choose me and some of my an English language program.

Isolved problems like word analogies and fill-in-the blanks in the program, wich Tan claimed were problems to her. M experiences as I represented my parents in communications and the motivation I acquired due to the duty I gave myself helped me to understand and solve those English questions without much complicatedness. Wen I flash back to the time I was a teenager, Iam embarrassed by the way; Ihandled my parents. Iremember I was usually embarrassed to invite my dad for fathers’ days in my Iwas to stomach the fact that my father was going to embarrass me in front of my friends and my classmates.

Nnetheless, te must attendance that my school required of every parent ensured that my dad was present in every other father’s day. Dspite, hs usual presence, h did not embarrass me, a he is a less talkative person. Dring any event in school, h would come for a short time. Mst of my friends did not thus ever discover that he did not know much English. Fr who discovered, were also in the same situation as I was, ad thus, tey did not make fun of him.

Hwever, dring one father’s day, m father was called upon to give a speech. O that day, Ifelt an embarrassment that was almost irrepressible the moment I heard my class teacher called up the name. ..
