The Oslo Accords allowed Darwish to go back home after 20 years of exile where he turned down Arafat’s offer to serve as a minister of culture. He celebrated Gaza’s independence from West bank. However, he passed on in 2008 (Marrauchi 39)It is clear that Darwish used his poetry to unite the people of Palestine. His communal poetic music helped convey his message throughout as he transformed his music to classic form. During this epic form, Darwish narrates the tragedies in his life through his habitual lyrical veins. He brought historic perception to current events as he expressed the Palestinian defeat through a collective conscience. Darwish’s poem had a way of presenting chronological happenings to eternal, and through his poems, everything seems possible. He managed to curve the Palestinian’s tragedy to eternity poetry. A good example is the poem “A place of exile must exist where pearls of memory reduce eternity and all time shrinks to a moment” (Darwish 188). These lines show that with time, Darwish could recover from his experiences. Any reader can apply this statement in his or her life because every person has a past.His poems do not only influence the people of Palestine, but the world as a whole. Darwish became an international poet whose works had global influence. He made sure that every human related well to his poems. “Wasn’t I that child playing near the lip of the well, still playing? This statement from Dawish’ poem strengthens the memories of past events allowing an entrance to eternity. Every government suffered at one time under the influence of other governments. The Europeans colonized several countries including America, and other Asian countries. These events seemed never-ending, but a time of freedom came. Currently, every country enjoys it freedom, hence every person can relate to Darwish’s past events, and hid later freedom.Mahmoud Darwish is a man who went through hard times in his life. He lost his motherland to the Palestinian Army. However, he chose not to go back to America where he previously stayed as a refuge. This shows his loyalty to his mother country unlike many people who never went back to their countries. He was ready for his country. He understood what was happening at a very early age. By the age of 19, he had a set of poems relating to the events in his country under the military rule. This shows that Darwish
