Disposable vs Reusable Diapers. Negative publicity is something that a company has to deal with at one point in its lifespan. As an environmental and consumer conscious company, P&G must always be on its marks so as not to disappoint either party. P&G has in the past undertaken many actions to fight negative publicity regarding one-time use diapers. For instance, in 1990, P&G came up with a $20 million fund to enable a study based on solid waste issues and promotion of projects dealing with diaper composting. Within the same year, P&G started a recycling project for diapers in Seattle and sent pamphlets to more than 30 million households telling them of these efforts. This is a really good strategy aimed at reconnecting and reassuring customers that all is well and the most important, the fact that they are well thought of and cared for.

Burson-Marsteller was hired by the company so as to aid in the management of lobbying campaign whereby Arthur D Little research was mailed to main legislators. This information from the research was also included in all P&G’s sample packages.
As a vice president, I would capitalize on the already positive note that took place recently about being environmentally conscious. I would do my level best to spread the good news to all and sundry. I would buy leading newspaper pages and have the ranking printed on them, talk to both local and international press informing and reminding them of how important P&G’s products are. Apart from, that I would also try and collaborate with state and environmental officials of Vermont state and try talking them of a possible fully funded research on any issue under contention as far as P & G pampers are concerned. As a sign of corporate social responsibility, I would also offer to construct at the state a pediatrician hospital that would cater for all the children under the age of five and make it a research and referral hospital where such analysis can be done.
In conclusion, several LCA practitioners shy away at the unsuitable usage of these studies. Disposable vs Reusable Diapers.
