Particularly, Bcker was known as an authority on drug culture and wrote numerous papers explaining the sociological effect of deviance and the use of marijuana. H further continued to study deviant cultures and then focused on deviant careers (Mingus & Berchfield, 2012). Bcker’s study of deviant cultures was pursued through a study of the life of musicians and how they separate themselves from people who are not musicians. Tis is the cause of them strengthening and isolating themselves as a deviant culture. Bcker further studied particular “deviant careers” while studied deviant cultures.
Wth the help of his teacher and mentor Everett Hughes, Bcker examined the situation in which people choose career paths, wich belong to a deviant group and are thus automatically labeled as being deviant because of their career choice (Bernberg, 2009). Bcker also studied the sociology of art, a he believed that the field required a considerable amount of development and research. H began to study art as a product of collective action and studied the principle of division of labor in the production of art.

Bcker has written several books regarding sociological and writing styles (Bernberg, 2009).
Hwever, te main emphasis of this paper is on Mr. Bcker’s most popular theory, wich was formed from his book, Te Outsiders. Bcker’s main theory is labeling theory which focuses on the occurrence of deviant behavior and which people are termed as deviant. Lbeling theory asserts that deviance is not specific to the performance of certain acts. Istead, dviance is regarded as how the majority of people label minorities who are different from them or engage in behavior, wich is not conformant to norms.
