We learned a lot about virtual teamwork on this project and it was a wonderful experience. Te interviewee was a 40-years old manager working at a local restaurant. Wen asked the definition of success in team management, te interviewee replied that success means attainment of all individualistic and collective goals and feeling good about it. Tis definition is very much in line with how Levi (2014) defines it; “ successful team completes its task, mintains good social relations, ad promotes its members’ personal and professional development” (Levi, 2014, p asked about the pathway to his current position, te interviewee shared that he entered the company as a processor and subsequently was promoted through various positions all the way up to becoming a manager.

Hs prior experience of management with other companies helped him in attaining this position. Sme of the passions that instigate the interviewee to be a successful leader include having an intrinsic desire to watch everybody succeed. A a leader, te interviewee wants to be very clear on the goals that his team needs to accomplish he makes sure that the team members are provided with the right tools, euipment, ad resources that would help them achieve those goals.

Te interviewee said that the way he interacts with the team members plays a pivotal role in developing a sense of ownership and responsibility in the team members. H delivers his team motivational speeches regularly to keep them directed at achieving the goals. Acording to the interviewee, te importance of having the right people at the right positions and at the right time cannot be overemphasized it comes to achieving success as a team.

Te interviewee is very careful about selecting the right people to build that team. T achieve that, te interviewee personally gets involved in the recruitment and interviews each candidate. Sbsequently, h carries out investigation using his own resources to make sure that the candidates have provided him with the right decision. Tis helps him recruit the right people that can be trusted with the responsibilities. Te interviewee also emphasizes that a leader should build this confidence in his followers that they the support of the leader.
