Who is more able to complete the construction according to the project’s terms in regard to quality and deadline p. Te design/ build (D/B) approach has two, sgnificant, avantages: ‘) risk allocation and b) timing’ (Cameron 8-42). Tese advantages could be analyzed as follows: a all the risks related to the successful delivery of the project refer to just one person: te Designer/ Contractor; tis means that the Owner of the project does not have to seek for responsibility, i regard to the project’s various aspects, t numerous persons to just one: te Designer (Cameron 8-42).

Tis fact helps the Owner to feel more secure in regard to the potentials risks of the project: te Owner knows in advance that in case of any failure during the development of the project there is one person that holds the whole responsibility, i the project’s Designer (Cameron 8-42); b the Owner of the project can easier monitor the progress of the project in terms of timing. A explained above, i the D/B approach, te Owner of the project has to just with one person in regard to the progress of the project: te Designer/ Contractor (Cameron 8-42).

I this context, te Owner can easier check whether the various phases of the project are completed on time, afact that denotes the completion of the whole project within its initial deadline (Cameron 8-42). Twards a similar direction, Ahworth has noted that the D/B approach is usually preferred as it can secure ‘a low cost and completion of time’ (Ashworth 154). Te potential of the Owner to ask for changes during the of the project is another important advantage of the D/B (Ashworth 154).

Te fact that the D/B approach can secure a ‘guaranteed Price in the beginning of the project’ p. 1 seems to be the most important criterion for Owners to choose the particular approach. Dspite its advantages, te D/B approach has been also related to certain disadvantages: a concerns have been often developed in construction projects based on D/B approach in regard to the quality of design (Ashworth 154); i fact, dspite the full responsibility of the Contractor/ te design of construction projects using the D/B approach is often of low quality, aproblem more common in cases that the Contractor/ Designer does not have the appropriate qualifications, i when the Designer’s/...
