As a starting point, i is also important to undertake an extensive study to determine whether there is a specific cultural need that needs to be met. Ientifying the level of contact with the extended family is critical since it will determine whether a comprehensive cultural support plan will have to be developed with the family (Spencer, 2006). I order to come up with an effective intervention plan, tere will be need to use culturagrams. Clturagrams are tools that are specifically developed to comprehend the role of culture in Snce a culturagram is a family assessment tool, tere is need to work with the entire family to identify cultural gaps that need to be filled by the social workers.

Snce none of the social workers at Social Worker at Ryanary Social Work Counselling Agency is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, te use of a culturagram will be needed to individualize the members of this family (Spencer, 2006). Gven that Naomi will be away from home for a prolonged time, aculturagram will help in identifying the language spoken home and whether Joe’s friend who will be taking care of the mother while the children are away is conversant with the language spoken within the home.

Tis will also aid in identifying the health beliefs held within the home to ensure that Joe’s friend is conversant with them. Aculturagram is also important in assessing any kind of kind of crisis that might emerge while Naomi and Joe who wield the biggest responsibility to the family are away (Newton, 2010). Te development of Naomi’s cultural intervention plan is a responsibility that should be conducted with sensitivity and in collaboration with the child and indeed the entire community especially the elders.

Gven that Naomi and her sister are already of age, tey should be fully involved in developing the intervention plan should be tailored to suit her personal circumstance and needs. I essence, ay action plan designed should bear in mind the needs and requirements of the concerned parties. Te family meeting meant to discuss the cultural intervention support plan should be facilitated by the meting convener. There is for help in this area especially on the area of language interpretation since there is a possibility that some members of the family are not conversant with the English language that is spoken by the social workers at Ryanary Social Work Counselling Agency.
