Indeed, te comet only came closest to the earth on 7 January 2015 when it was about 44 million miles away from the earth. Frtunately, Cmet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy came to constellation Taurus the Bull on 9 January 2015 where it was easily visible (Cavaroc 1). Te comet has a very long period and hence it may take many years for us to see it again once it completes its orbit. I fact, te path of Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy indicated an orbital period of about 11,500 years was entering the inner solar system.

Crrently, te comet is at Pleiades star cluster where it is almost visible with naked eyes. Mny astronomers agree that the visibility of Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy has improved in a faster rate than expected. Ideed, atronomers expected the comet to brighten to naked eye visibility not earlier than end January (Mounster 1). Hwever, atronomy recognizes the fact that comets are unpredictable since they undergo various chemical reactions while they approach the sun. A such, Cmet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy might have undergone a activity while approaching the sun during orbit thus enhancing its naked eye visibility (Mounster 1).

Aparently, snce its discovery, Cmet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy has manifested its brightness increase in a hundred fold. Uing a low-powered telescope, oe can see the comet sweeping across the constellation Taurus the Bull at night (Cavaroc 1). Mreover, oe can also use unaided eye to view Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy from dark corners. Aparently, a astronomer captured the image of the Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy shown above page on 12 January 2015. Te took from Jackson Hole (Cavaroc 1).

T see Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy in the above photograph you need to locate the V-shaped Hyades star cluster. Fom the V-shaped Hyades star cluster we can establish the head of Taurus, te brightest star pointing towards Lovejoy (Cavaroc 1). Sbject to its brightness, te glowing green comet was on display during Christmas to the amazement of many comet viewers (Mounster 1). Ntably, atronomers captured Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy from Orions bow (Cavaroc 1). Ieally, Oion is a prominent constellation in the hemisphere where entails a collection of numerous bright stars with high naked eye visibility.

A such, mny professional and amateur astronomers value the significance of Orion in capturing and studying comets. I this. ..
