This will ensure that victims of the natural disasters receive humanitarian assistance in time. Te January 2010 earthquake affected 3. 5million where over 300,000 people were injured, ad 220,000 people were reported dead. T enable aid agencies, t offer humanitarian assistance there was a need to plan, srvey, cllect data, aalyze the data, iterpret the data, frecast, rport, ad monitor and evaluate the situation (Martin & Peter 2011). Tese are the elements of an assessment. Te scope of the assessment included some of the following issues. Te following various ways in which these issues were dealt with for successful humanitarian aid in after Haiti 2010 earthquake.

Te following issues were noted by the U. Ater the quake, te phone networks in the country failed, tis made it difficult for the aid agencies to communicate. Te electricity supply was also affected, ad that night the capital was in total darkness, mking it difficult for the aid agencies to offer emergency services. Alot of traffic was reported, ad everyone was trying to reach their family and friends. Taffic was the streets were extremely narrow making it difficult for the aid agencies to transport emergency supplies to the victims.

Aso, mst of the roads were blocked by debris. Te sea transport was immensely affected due to the damage caused to Port-au-Prince. Tis hampered the rescue and aid efforts and also caused confusion and congestion. Snce the airport was intact, te aid agencies were flying to offer humanitarian aid, athough out of the fourteen airports found in Haiti, oly four of them have paved runways. Te Red Cross dispatched relief Geneva to Haiti, ad the UN’s World Food Programme gave out food aid.

Te following are some of commodities and services that were required to offer humanitarian aid to the affected people; fod, wter, selter, mdical supplies, vhicles, arcrafts, cothes, human resources, ad funds to finance all the these emergency services and goods, aong others. T distribute food and water various distribution hubs were identified in different locations of the city. U allocated money for work programs, t employ the citizens of Haiti to help in clearing the rubble this will help in delivering the aid.

Ifrastructure damage experts, cmmunications specialists, cearing specialists, fom foreign countries assisted in providing their expertise in repairing damaged power. ..
