That life in the streets is hard and one has to adapt to make it out there since everyone lives for themselves however he still remembers the huge role that his mother played. The song highlights the plight of different people on the streets especially those that are of age and are wishing to join the different gangs to make it in life. It is an illustration of the hustle of the gang members and the different reasons that leads the people in the society to join the gangs.Poverty and poor living conditions is also clearly identified as a problem that is facing the society. Poverty is a reality and due to the poor and dilapidated living many people struggle to makes ends meet and end up joining the gangs and the gang life in order to survive. Having been brought up with his sisters Tupac has since left the house where he was living with his mother and is looking for ways to survive and to have his own standing “over the years we was poorer that the other little kids” (line 8). Poverty has led him to make the decision and join the gang in order to make more money so that he can provide for himself and the family. In the eyes of Tupac the ends justifies the means and since he has a good cause that makes him engage in the activities engaging in the gang related activities is allowable a concept that is used by majority of the gang members.The main subject of the song that Tupac highlights in the whole song is the Strength of a Single Mother. Tupac reckons that his mother does not have any help from any other person and yet she manages to fend for her family and ensure that they all eat and get the comforts of their lives mainly because of the efforts of his mother. The fact that Tupac does not have a father does not stop her mother to constantly strive and get food and other needs for Tupac his brother and the sisters in the family. Additionally he highlights the problems that the single mothers face due to having children that are constantly breaking the law and in the process highlights the unwavering love of a mother “I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell huggin on my mama from a jail cell” (11-12). Although he had been jailed after he had been knocked out of the house the mother still goes to lock up and gives him a hug behind bars. He is also amazed by her ability to understand and advise him accordingly even though he does not deserve the care and adverse accorded to him by his mother. The song calls to terms to its
