Since the bilingual learners displayed numerous advantages in relation to word awareness as opposed to monolingual children, it is vindicated to point out that bilingualism have an extra advantage in terms of literacy skills.On a deeper insight, Bialystok (1997) indicates that the bilingual children have an advanced capability of mastery of the concepts of word. This explains why the bilinguals are able to differentiate words in sentences, and even pick out the words that carry more weight in the sentence. In terms of word comprehension as well, the bilinguals were indicated to have capability of coming up with synonyms of words in sentences. This is to mean that the bilingual learners have the ability to selectively chose words and apply the same in different contexts.
