This act of honesty is meant to be often practised and at all stages of an individual’s life.Integrity is clearly depicted in cases where individuals turn down bribes and other forms of corruption. This is usually experienced in situations whereby most people expect shear favour for the things they do not deserve. Most recruiting agencies usually take bribe from interviewees in order to employ them. Turning down the bribe would show an individuals honesty and truthfulness. It is usually tempting for most agencies to take such bribes since no one would be seeing them. Other situations include the employment of only qualified personnel regardless of their ethnic background or blood link (Carter, 1996).Throughout the book, Cartel tries to show the different meanings of integrity as it is in the practical society. He also uses a subjective example to show how integrity affects different people in the society. It is through his sufficient explanations that readers can accept and openly practise the act of integrity. Involvement of religion and other social issues on the other hand assures readers that Cartel does not only base his arguments on philosophy but from all the perspectives of life.Jon Spayde clearly states that learning is a general experience that should take place on the entire life of an individual. In his book, Learning in the Key of Life, Spayde disputes the fact that most scholars view education as a typical sixteen years process which ends after the stipulated period. Consequently, he believes that most of the education required by individuals is usually obtained in the outside class. This refers to the class that exists out of all the learning institutions (Spayde, 2008).According to the essay Learning in the Key of Life, Spayde uses a variety of authors to justify this fact. Initially he differentiates the illustrations brought forth by Shakespeare and Tom Morrison on their mode of identification of love. Spayde symbolizes these illustrations to the process through which knowledge is gained in the contemporary society. On the other hand, he states that just by living in the streets, one should be able to encounter all the human conditions required.
