The presenter showcases their different brightness levels and varieties such as cool and light. Energy efficient bulbs can fit into pin sockets as well as screw bases. Of greater importance is that they reduce air and water pollution. Their colour variation is good since colours denote different purposes. For example the colour red is ideal for night vision, green for pilots and the army, blue is easy to the eyes and amber does not attract insects. Traditional bulbs lack variety. The use of energy efficient light bulbs is wide and varied. They can be used in rooms, porches, in reading lamps and hallways. More significantly, energy saving bulbs meets Government regulations on minimum energy efficient standards. The European Union has enacted legislation that will require all bulbs in Europe to be energy friendly by the year 2016.This further provides a marketing avenue and a sales pitch for the product. It is a product that will find a ready market (Toomey, 2014:500).These types of bulbs have a service life of between 6000-15000 hours in contrast to traditional ones that have between 750 to 1000 hours of service life. The demand and need for the product in the market is not in doubt. Who does not wish to save money and live in an environmentally friendly environment? The product provides a high value as it will satisfy a wide variety of consumer needs both individual and corporate. The product’s benefits far outweigh the costs. It has a ready market and is of greater value in comparison to traditional bulbs. Moreover, there are no available alternatives to energy saving bulbs.It is a viable product for partners to invest in and one that suppliers can readily buy into. Energy saving bulbs is a basic consumer need item and thus the target market segment is wide and encompassing. It is an everyday product whose usage is massive. This is a key advantage. Although the energy saving bulb has a clear and obvious advantage over the traditional bulb, it presenter must contend with competition from manufacturers of the same product. The presenter does not convincingly outline how the product will be different from similar ones, for instance in packaging and pricing. Moreover being a new product more competitors are expected enter the market while manufacturing technology is expected to improve leading
