Choosing to eat imported foot negatively affect our planet due to its higher ecological footprint. This is particularly because it takes more energy to ship and transport the imported foods into the country thereby resulting in more carbon footprint as compared to eating the locally produced food.There are a diverse number of habits and lifestyle changes that I can adopt to reduce my ecological footprint. Firstly, one of the effective ways through which I can change my ecological footprint is to reduce my overall carbon emissions by making better travel choices, buying renewable energy and being energy efficient such as switching the bulbs off when they are not in use. This will enable me to save water and paper among other resources. Lastly, I would adopt a more sustainable consumption habit by rejecting goods or food products that are produced in an unsustainable manner.
