Certainly, in business world, group orientation attitude among employees and customers can create difference of opinions as well as communication gap. Due to the huge difference of nature, it is better for the company to use Polycentrism to connect with the culture of Brazil (Ferguson, 2007).The paradigm of masculinity in the Hofstede’s model replicates whether the cultural backbone of the country is success oriented, achievement oriented or it is based on the quality of life. In this section, Brazil scores 49, where Canada scores 52 (The Hofstede Center, 2014). As both country scores intermediate, there is work-life balance in both countries. Again, since there is a similarity of character in this dimension for both countries, it shall be unnecessary for the Canadian company to change their work culture massively when functioning in Brazil.Uncertainty avoidance factor shows the effect of uncertainty and ambiguity on people of the country. In an organisation, uncertainty avoidance reflects whether the employees are comfortable with unidentified risk factors and face new challenges or they prefer conventional methods in workplace. According to the Hofstede model, Brazil scores 76, where Canada scores 48 in this particular dimension, indicating a big difference (The Hofstede Center, 2014). Unlike Canadian society, people of Brazil are observed to be more interested in certainty depicting immense significance towards enforced and defined laws and regulations (Hofstede, 2001). Hence, the Canadian company might face problems with change implementation and workplace flexibility owing to which, the company shall need to function in a pre-determined manner.The dimension of pragmatism reflects whether people are interested about the absolute truth and not everything can be explained. According to pragmatism, corporate culture can be two types, viz. normative and pragmatic. According to the procedure, both the people of Brazil and Canada are normative in nature; wherein Brazil scores 44 and Canada scores 36 (The Hofstede Center, 2014). As the difference between the two countries is negligible, the Canadian company can do business without changing their business policy in this dimension.According to the Hofstede model, in indulgence society, people are allowed to enjoy life, whereas in a restraint society, people are bound by the strict norms of the community.
