Man has no pre-eminence over beasts or other inanimate objects. Eerything is centered in its own being. Tere is respect and recognition for everything. Cinese trade and economy had its moments of glory in the ancient years. Plitical upheavals and mismanagement did cast shadows on economic successes. Hwever, uheavals and mismanagement were result of lack of belief. “et there be a small country with few people. Lt there be ten times and a hundred times as many powerful utensils. Bt let them not be used. Lt the people lives highly and not migrate far” (Vincent Shen, 6).

I other words, Doism sort of economized action in a big way. I supported actions that were endowed with virtue and grace. Tere is stillness and strength in Daoism. I mooted the highest form of idealism where exploitation did not exist. Vncent Shen has repeatedly drawn parallels with Daoism in order to analyze philosophy. H could not help admire Laozi for Daoism. H has obviously made attempts to find out the origins and life details of Laozi. H has not hwever, atributes much information about Daoism to the discovery of the Guodian texts.

Sen dwells at length on the analysis of philosophy and quotes the Guodian texts liberally for the analysis of dao. Pobably he did so because he found greater consistence in the Guodian texts than in any other source. Doism was in existence long before the Han dynasty ruled China. Doism predates Confucianism. I is also superior to the concept of Confucianism. Cnfucianism treated human beings as the centre of the universe whereas Daoism shows no partiality.

Erope was split into several smaller nations. Prhaps her large size acted as deterrent against any land her borders.
