This made Benjamin the leading American spokesman for American interests in England. H wrote famous essays on behalf of the colonies and was appointed by as an agent of many other colonies to the crown. I 1773, Bnjamin wrote two essays that were his most celebrated pro American satirical writings. Hs essays were An Edict by the King of Prussia and Rules by Which a Great Empire May Be Reduced to a Small One (Houston 312). Ater the return of Benjamin to Pennsylvania, i 1963, te western frontier found in a bitter war called the Pontiac’s rebellion.

Te Paxton Boys who were a group of settlers became convinced that the government of Pennsylvania was doing less in protecting them from American Indian raids, s they killed a group of peaceful Susquehannock Indians and headed to Philadelphia (Brands 102). Benjamin played a major role in protecting the capital from the mob. H helped in organizing a local militia in defending the capital and met with the Paxton leaders and convinced them to leave. Bnjamin was also against racial prejudice.

seriously condemned the racial prejudice of the Paxton Boys. I doing this, h defended democracy appreciating that people of all different races had similar rights. Fankin viewed slavery and slave trade as a moral ill that went against American ideals. Uing his position as the president of the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, h publicly criticised slavery strongly stating that it involved utter debasement of human nature. Furthermore, h stated that slavery was tantamount to commiting evil, a economic ill and an activity that damaged moral footing of the American society.

He also supported the Quakers from New York and Pennsylvania when they presented their petition for abolition of slavery. I doing this, h defended the ideals of democracy and helped in the establishment of such ideals as they are today practiced in the country. Bnjamin Franklin was appointed as a member to the committee of five that drafted the declaration of independence (Houston 298). Dring this time Benjamin was temporarily disabled but managed to make many small changes to the draft sent to and later attended the signing of the document.

A a commissioner in France where he effectively represented the US and secured a critical military alliance with the French and negotiated the treaty of Paris in 1783. Te French people loved...
