The United States above all other interest pursued to achieve areas to expand and explore new markets in other areas much more than other state interests. The politics and aggressive efforts to purchase Louisiana clearly present the defense that forced America into making the purchase. Taking back on the background to this, America as a state bank on its ability to expand to the west and develop international markets. This great economic vision was threatened when France gained control over Louisiana with the threat to block America’s access to the New Orleans Port (Burnett, 2005). This threat apparently was a blow so huge for the United States Economy. It meant no more river transport on the River Mississippi and no ventures into international markets.
