Opioid Painkillers Widely Prescribed among Reproductive Age Women. In the elderly and youths, opioid have been shown to possess neuro-modulatory effects, altering the activity of the brain. As such, long-term use of the drug within a population is likely to cause brain damages. For instance, it has been increasingly pointed out that the use of the drug leads to diminishing of the brain’s white matter thus affecting decision-making ability. Consequently, the brain’s ability to secrete natural painkillers and dopamine is impaired. In addition, increased opioid usage causes depressed respiratory system, a development that may result into functional collapse and consequent fatalities.Within the current societal economic setup, the cost of living is continuously escalating.

This leaves people with little choice other than to subscribe to public medical insurance plans. Such plans, however, are highly restrictive on the quality of care one can be accorded. As such, many Americans find it quite difficult to access alternative medications to opioids. The use of the opioid, nevertheless, imposes drug dependence making the one-time users to become habitual users. In this regarded, there are increasing probabilities that the future sobriety of the American populations is at stake. Indeed, there are chances that more children that will be sired within the societal setup will have neurological defects. As a result, it is concerning that more resources would have to be directed towards managing the victims to excessive opioid usage. Further, the trend raises question on the attainability of inclusivity in American systems. For instance, it is always believed that the first generation learners are instrumental in prosperity of a familial setup. This case poses serious challenge to this analogy, with the chances of such generation students being physically and psychologically impaired being great.Therefore, there is urgent need for intervention programs to reverse this worrying trend. Such interventions require prompt collaborative efforts from various agencies and healthcare facilities. Through awareness creation, it is likely that the gravity of the problem will be.
