The most important information I learned from the multicultural interview is that despite the diversity in culture, people from different backgrounds and cultural orientations share the universal truth in aiming for peace, love, and the ability to pursue and achieve personal and professional goals. How has your thinking changed as a result of this interview? As a result of this interview, I got to be more receptive and conscious of respecting the beliefs, views, and preferences of people from other culture. What are you doing differently now because of your change in thinking (be specific)?

Because of my change in thinking, I am more attentive in listening to the messages relayed by people, especially from other culture, to avoid miscommunication and misunderstanding that could lead to conflicts and disagreements. What is the most important information you learned about diversity from the Cultural Immersion Experience? The most important information I learned about diversity from the Cultural Immersion Experience is that despite practicing different religious beliefs, we all belong to the same universal family that values family, togetherness, unity, and sharing as a means of doing good to others. How will this knowledge change the way you interact with others (be specific)?

This knowledge has changed the way I interact with others in terms of according more respect in other culture’ s religious beliefs and in recognizing that there are benefits in learning and appreciating what other culture’ s values, traditions, and practices do for the betterment, not only of their lives but of the wellbeing of mankind. Giving respect is tantamount to contributing to peace in life. Chapter 7 discusses Leadership. Beginning on p. 225 is a discussion of the Key Skills of a Diversity-Conscious Leader.

Discuss how you rate yourself on each of the four Keys. What can you do differently to improve in each of these areas (a plan that is specific, concrete, and measurable)? From the key skills of a diversity-conscious leader, I have learned that I am culturally intelligent as I have the ability to understand people from diverse cultural orientations.
