Air-conditioning is necessary in this building for the purpose of regulating heat. However, air-conditioning is expensive and should be avoided through other alternatives such as natural ventilations, higher celling, and open windows. Therefore a comparison will be made for the most appropriate air conditioning system. Liverpool philharmonic building will use ventilation as a conditioning system. Ventilation will ensure there is constant supply of oxygen which is vital for human existence. This process will also remove respiratory products such as heat, moisture and carbon dioxide. In addition ventilation will ensure that contaminants such as water vapour, outdoor aerosol pollutants, smells and heat from cooking are removed.

Therefore renovation of Liverpool philharmonic will mean that ventilation system needs to be upgraded. There is no need to mechanically ventilate parts of the hall because an air conditioning system will be installed while the rear parts of the building will use natural ventilation around the parameters. The first thing that we must do is to compare and evaluate all feasible options available for ventilation in order to have a successful renovation. This requirement ensures the project to choose from various options, which are feasible in order to progress to the concept design.

The four way that can be used to ventilate the building are extract ventilation, balanced ventilation, natural ventilation and kitchen extract ventilation. There will also be installation of a CT circuit far accommodating the # air handling units Condensing boilers are 90% effective. Radiant panels are mor effective than other heat emitters and can effectively heat bigger rooms.
