Primary Colors is considered as a brilliant book which implements the use of characters that represent real-life figures in American politics. The book provides an insight into the American Political history by outlining incidents of the 1992 Democratic primary carried out in New Hampshire. The main candidate in the book is referred to as Jack Stanton and his wife Susan. It is evident that the characters are a representation of real-life figures, in this case, Bill and Hillary Clinton during the 1992 campaign. The ReviewPrimary Colors by Joe Klein is an insightful book on presidential hopefuls.

The book is considered as invaluable since it outlines a scenario of how Clinton attracted the interest of his followers. It is evident that Klein was among the first members of the corps press who believed in the candidacy of Clinton. Therefore, he is considered to be in a unique position to write an account of the major campaign occurrences from its earliest days to the improbable victory of the candidate. It is evident that the major theme outlined in the book revolves around the meeting between Henry and Jack Stanton. In his work, Klein has depicted a number of scandals that involves mostly women in power.

The candidate, his staff, and the wife are forced to defuse the noted scandals through the implementation of a high degree of savagery and truthfulness. Despite this, it is apparent that during crunch times, Stanton provides an indication that he is willing to sink and varied depths to prevent his dark side from always showing to the public. Additionally, it is apparent that he has an ability to relate to the past failings of the other candidates.

Despite the fact that one can question the empathy level of Stanton at this point, Henry is convinced that the Governor is the most loyal man worth serving. Subsequently, all the doubts he had as a leader are set aside. It is evident that Klein’ s Primary Colors is told from the perspective of a young political consultant referred to as Harvey Burton, with the stories revolving around democratic presidential primaries that are focused on winning in their political game.
