In an effort to have a more clear understanding of the reason why the Nuclear Program should be continued in Ontario, a research has been carried out in an effort to examine the background as well as benefits of the Nuclear Power Program. This report will also provide a number of recommendations regarding how best to ensure that the maximum benefits are gained from the presence of the nuclear program. PAG is of the firm belief that PAG needs to place more focus on outlining the benefits that accompany the nuclear power program.
This will be a way in which to enable Ontario to cater to the increasing need for power from the ever expanding population of the region. In this regard, the purposes of the report are as follows: In an effort to ensure that the above purposes have been achieved, the report first begins with a summary of the present Nuclear power program in Ontario and the debate surrounding it. Secondly, the report presents benefits that would accompany expansion of this program. The report thereafter presents an examination of the strategies that can be applied to Ontario’s nuclear program.
Based on these findings, recommendations are put forward as a way to improve the nuclear power program. By extension increase the benefits to be gained from this program. There was no primary research that was used to create this report. All the findings contained are drawn from sources of a secondary nature including academic journals, statistics from the Canadian government and books. The recommendations put forward are provided from experts on the field of nuclear power. It is important to consider the limitations in instances where secondary sources from Canada are not available forcing the researchers to draw both sources as well as statistics from organisations in the United States.
However, these limitations do not impact on the credibility of these findings since they have been drawn from sources that are reliable. Requirements for relevancy are met as each of the sources that has been used relate fully to the subject of expansion of nuclear power program. On the other hand, transferability is satisfied through using sources from regions whose population and size can be compared to Ontario.
Even though some of the sources used are not as recent, their importance will not be impacted by time. Lastly, the recommendations have only been put forward after being successfully
