Globalization has made the world flat and this has not made it easier for businesses across the globe. It has brought about competition with firms that are even in different continents. To distinguish themselves companies have had to employ innovation as a way o gain a competitive edge. To survive in these kinds of conditions a firm has no choice but to be innovative. If this is not implemented, a firm will be easily crushed by competitors. To be able to fully utilize innovation, the same should be embedded into the company culture.

This is whereby innovation is not a one-time event but rather a day to day way of doing business. To be able to achieve this, the company should ensure that employees, management, technology and corporate focus are all aligned towards innovation. Everyone and everything in the organization should, be pointed and looking for ways to come up with innovative processes and products. To be able to embed innovation into the culture of the organization both employees and the management need to be conversant with the need for innovation.

Staffs need to see the bigger picture of being innovative. The management should not force innovation onto employees as this will create a backlash, Alice. To achieve this, the management should use soft skills to make it easy for the employees to see and employ innovation in their duties. As time goes on this will eventually become part of the day to day processes, therefore, the company culture. Most of the large organizations e. g. Google, Apple, and Facebook, have a policy that enables them to apply innovation easily. These companies believe that the architecture to innovate should be applied in a well-defined framework.

When the management is making a decision on the processes and technology to apply, they always factor in how innovation will be improved upon by the new directive before it is issued. In other companies, however, a directive is issued by the management and the consequences weighed in later.
