High number of workers who are well aware of the required policies and procedures to follow in case an incident involving machinery accident or exposure to hazardous chemicals and gasses occurs. This number indicates that the industry is well prepared for unpredicted occurrences, although the few unprepared workers should be enlightened on matters safety before it is too late. It is also evident that the workers mind their safety and that of their co-workers, which is a crucial thing to do when working in such a risky environment so as to avoid recklessness that could be fatal.

The fact that several workers have refused to undertake a task that they thought would pose a danger to their lives and those of their co-workers is a clear indication that the management should be alarmed and look for ways of improving the safety of such an activity (Macdonald, 2004). The high number of workers aware of their first aid officer can be evidence of having previously required his or her services at a particular point in time when an incident occurred, or an indication that the management has taken its time to introduce this officer to the workers in case they need help. Industrial safety is essential at all times and by everyone who works in the industry as a permanent employee, a contractor, a guard, a clerk, and even visitors who are invited to witness the developments taking place in these industries and factories.

Awareness is a critical factor when it comes to keeping safe and protecting one’s life and that of others, as well as their health, from the effects of working in a harsh industrial environment.

Industries involve many hazardous items that people come across, among them explosive devices, poisonous gases, corrosive chemicals, unstable machines, slippery fluids, and falling objects, all of which can be dangerous to the people handling or encountering them. Reducing the number of incidents involving accidents and recklessness in such entails a lot of being on the lookout for any dangers that might prevail, and knowing where to run to when they occur. Some incidents involve a matter of life and death, and any delay in reacting to them could be disastrous and fatal, endangering the lives of others within this industry.

Employees who are aware of their working environment should also know their rights as workers, and should not allow the management to forego these rights by pushing them to endanger their lives. Most workers end up hurt or dead, not
