The paper aims to delimit some ethical dilemmas, one of which is should the business maintain open and sincere relationships with the customers or it is possible to violate the free speech rights in the case expressing personal opinion will insult or contradict customer’ s beliefs. Similarly to other dilemmas, there could be different answers to this question, depending on the perspective a person uses. For instance, from the duty-based theory, saying the lies and serving a gay couple is morally wrong as the essence of deceit is immoral, regardless of what outcomes it could bring.

(Shakil) However, from the stakeholder approach, such an attitude can be approved as it will be aimed at ensuring that the rights and interests of customers preserved. In addition, to my mind, it would also be relevant to address another dilemma: whether the decision not to have children should be tolerated and whether such marriages should be regarded as equal to those with children. Indeed, people may not give birth to children due to many reasons, such an illness, being infertile, or making a conscious decision not to do that.

However, from the religious point of view, the primary goal of a marriage is a continuation of life and giving birth to children. Thereof, it can be argued that couples without children are inferior to those who have them. At the same time, the outcome-based theory would hold that allowing individuals to marry without having children is acceptable because it will bring no harm to the society as a whole, but make two people happy and provide for their well-being. In a sum, the issue of gay marriage remains among the ones surrounded by the list of ethical dilemmas and controversies.

It is far from being solved due to the fact that it touches upon a variety of issues, such as religion, human rights, morality, or social responsibility that can be evaluated using different perspectives. In this context, the article “ Firm Balk at Gay Wedding” serves as an illustration of how difficult and controversial the issue of gay marriages can be.
