On the basis of their population, demographics, energy consumption, income and poverty rates, family size, and their political characteristics. In the first map about the population density of the states of the U. S, different states have different population densities. According to the map, the high population is concentrated in the capital cities in most of the states. In the second map about the individuals aged 65 years and over, a similar disparity is seen between states. Some states like Montana and North Dakota registered higher percentages of individuals aged over 65 years.

More specifically, in the central and northern parts of the map, there are higher percentages of individuals aged 65 years and above. The third map registers the total energy consumption per states in the year 2013. According to the map, the states in the central part of the U. S registered higher energy consumption rates with states like Wyoming and Louisiana leading in the consumption of energy. In the fourth map that shows the rates of income and poverty in 2013 by county, there are disparities in the distribution of poverty in the U. According to the map, the central eastern part of the map registers high poverty levels as compared to the other parts of the U.

In general, the poverty rates in the map are almost evenly distributed. The fifth map shows the family and housing distribution by county. According to the map, there is a significant disparity in the average family sizes in the U. The states in the western, central and southern parts show a significant consistency in the family sizes. The sixth map shows the 2012 presidential election results by county.

According to the map, most of the states in the central and southern parts of the U. S were dominated by the Republicans. In the eastern and western parts of the nation, the Democrats dominated; however, Republicans showed dominance in most sections of the map. In the population density map, much of the population is concentrated in the far western and eastern parts of the US. In every state’s capital, high population densities are registered. In states like Washington DC, New Jersey, Florida, California, Ohio, and Indiana among others show high population densities within the major cities.

The high population in these regions can be attributed to the closeness of these states to the ocean and popular cities within the states. Furthermore, low population densities are registered in states like Nevada, Utah
