The knowledge of strengths and weakness helps in using these theories. Cmputers and software today has provided not just meanings, eplanations and comprehension of language but also have helped in pronunciation to a large extent which has been one challenging area of the linguistic studies. Te retention in the studies has increased with the use of computer software. Tere are various sociological, pychological, pilosophical and technical theories used to develop various educational packages and software. Tese theories provide a basic framework on the basis of which the educational software are developed.

Tese software programs contribute to the effective learning process for the learners. Drin, Dmmin & Gabel (1990) have explained various importance of theory. Ay theory is developed by the observations made over a time. I is a general explanation of these observations. I explains behaviour or the pattern of behaviour in a particular situation which helps in predicting the behaviour in the similar case. Teories can be modified time to time. I is used in various research and purpose of education and research. I is utilised in fields and services.

Tere are various theories for education. Te educational packages for children should be based on the simple concepts of knowledge, eucation and learning. I should include the concepts of psychology, gneral sociology and computer science. Te user friendliness and ease to use any particular software also adds to the learning process for children. Tere are two main theories discussed in this paper for the development of educational software for students. Oe is objectivism and another is constructivism. Ech of these theories has its own strengths and Fr the supporters of objectivism knowledge and truth is objective because these exist outside the minds of individuals.

Rnd (1962) states “Reality exists as an objective absolute—facts are facts, idependent of mans feelings, wshes, hpes or fears. ”According to Jonnassen, 1991 learners can be told about the world and they can be expected to replicate the same views, toughts and structures in their thinking and learning process.
