In all aspects and fairness, it would be safe to argue the fact there are many African Americans in the jails higher than any other race. Thus, it points out to oppression since the Blacks are not given the same treatment in the face of the criminal justice systems. Accordingly, there are many races that exist around the world. The concept of racism has been misunderstood for a long period with many people having a view of racism biological feature and not a social phenomenon. This view, however, does not present the concept of racial oppression entirely.

A study of racial oppression in the American society reveals that racial discrimination is as a result of different historical forms of oppression. One of the major outcomes of racial discrimination is slavery. Most of the African-Americans are considered to be descendants of the African ancestors who were the property of the white Americans. The Africans suffered from the state of being referred to as property to their white masters. They suffered at the hands of their masters as there were no restrictions on the level of punishment they received from their masters.

In extreme cases, the slave masters ended up killing some of the Africans for petty mistakes real or perceived. Africans were oppressed since their freedoms were curtailed and forcefully taken away. Objectively, neocolonialism could be an extension of imperialism and modern day colonialism where wealthy foreign nations assert their influence on other countries. In most cases, the rich nations use relief aid and donations as reasons enough to scare and arm-twist nations to do the things that the donor nations want the recipients to do (Hutson 2321).

In the same line of thought and respect, the wealthy nations give the biggest donations on global and world bodies such as the United Nations and thus, they would easily influence the actions of such bodies. The principle argument and logic are that the countries that have wealth and resources would tend to decide for the others the course of action and direction that some of their destinies would follow. A practical case and instance happened in the recent past when the Wealthy and Powerful nations of the West wanted to push the agenda of gays and lesbianism all over the globe.

They sent emissaries to other countries such as Africa and Asia encouraging and forcing
