Fact that a given vice has been legalized does not mean that everyone must engage in it as human beings have the power to make choices hence the legalization of gambling by the state of Iowa cannot be used in defense of Bachmann’s habit. The legalization of gambling was by the state was aimed at promoting the activity as a means of generating income to the state through taxation and was not intended to have people addicted in it. Her addictive habit can never be blamed on the failure of her family members to devote time for her especially her children.

She ought to have found other means of being involved in their lives since they are her children whom she has known very well for a long period of time. Her belief that gambling was the only thing in which she was gifted served to worsen the situation as that encouraged to take part in it and get deeply engrossed in the habit. “I just wanted to feel good at something. Despite the fact that those around her are to be blamed partly for her addiction, she bears the major part of the blame as she was unable to control her own personal urge to engage in gambling. Angie Bachmann addiction to gambling is a process of her own making as proved by the above outlined factors.
